Manchester City secured their first trophy of the season with a penalty shootout win over Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final.
Man City have won their first silverware of the season after losing the Community Shield to Arsenal on penalties at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.
The clash, which ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, was decided by shootout despite a dominant performance from Pep Guardiola’s side.
Following the equalizer, it looked to be a personal battle between En-Nesyri and Palmer as to who would score the winning goal as each forced excellent stops out of their opposing goalkeepers.
Ake would have saved the day but missed out on the chance, with the game heading into penalties.
Despite Sevilla having numerous chances, the game was to be decided in penalties.
Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Mateo Kovacic, Jack Grealish and Kyle Walker scored Man City’s five penalties, with Nemanja Gudelj missing Sevilla’s decisive fifth spot kick.
This out rightly gave Man City their great win!
