Zinedine Zidane, the ex-manager of Real Madrid, is said to have come to terms with a remarkable comeback in football management.
However, this return is contingent on one specific condition. Zinedine Zidane, a former star player for France and an accomplished manager, boasts an impressive collection of trophies. During his time as Real Madrid’s boss, he guided the team to three consecutive Champions League victories and secured two UEFA Super Cup titles and FIFA Club World Cup wins. Additionally, he clinched a La Liga championship and Supercopa glory.
Despite his illustrious career in Spain, the 51-year-old has never managed outside of the country. His most recent managerial role was during his second tenure at Real Madrid from 2019 to 2021.
According to reports from France Blue Provence, Zidane has now chosen another club as his next venture. The report claims that he has reached an agreement with Olympique de Marseille to become their manager.
However, there is a prerequisite that must be fulfilled before Zinedine Zidane assumes leadership in France.
There is speculation that his agreement is not with the club itself, but rather with Saudi Arabia.
If the club’s sale to the Gulf nation goes ahead, he has supposedly agreed to become Marseille’s new manager.
However, this dream may have to be postponed because Marseille’s current owner, Frank McCourt, purchased the club just seven years ago and has recently stated that it is not for sale.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia is determined to acquire the French side and aspires to transform them into “the Newcastle of France”.
It is also rumored that Zidane has requested a £260 million transfer budget in order to return to Marseille and Saudi Arabia has granted this request.
