Erik ten Hag characterized Manchester United’s performance in their 4-3 loss to FC Copenhagen as “very good” and placed the blame for the outcome on the officials.
Despite losing for the third time in four Champions League games, jeopardizing their chances of progressing from Group A, Ten Hag found positive aspects in his team’s display.

The Dutch manager expressed disappointment over the turn of events, particularly Marcus Rashford’s red card, which altered the course of the game after United had taken a 2-0 lead. Bruno Fernandes later put United ahead 3-2, but they faltered again in the latter part of the second half, conceding three or more goals in a match for the seventh time this season.
Despite the challenging situation, Ten Hag acknowledged the positive aspects of United’s performance, stating, “Even with 10 men, we were dictating the game. We played very well.”
Ten Hag contended that several decisions went against United in Copenhagen, starting with Rashford’s red card for a challenge on Elias Jelert, identified through VAR. He believes these decisions contribute to a broader pattern that has led to United’s nine defeats in 17 games this season, marking their most losses at this stage of a campaign in 50 years.
