Arsenal moved closer to securing a spot in the Champions League knockout stages with a convincing 2-0 victory over Group B rivals Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium, aided by Bukayo Saka’s goal and assist.
Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in the first half by converting Saka’s low cross. Saka later doubled the lead with a composed finish after receiving a pass from the equally threatening Gabriel Martinelli in the second period. Despite Saka limping off with an ankle injury in the closing stages, Arsenal remained in control throughout the match.
💬 "It was a really convincing win, generating a lot and not conceding anything. It was a big step for us."

While there were concerns about Saka’s injury, manager Mikel Arteta downplayed them, stating, “It was just a kick. I was told by the physios that he wasn’t happy to continue. He had some discomfort, but hopefully, I’m going to assume he’s going to be OK.”
Sevilla struggled to break free from Arsenal’s dominance, facing challenges on the flanks where Saka and Martinelli caused problems. The victory, coupled with Sevilla’s sole shot in stoppage time, ensures Arsenal maintains a four-point lead at the top of Group B with only two games remaining.
With the Champions League knockout stages within reach, Arteta and his team have reason to be encouraged.
