In the January transfer window, Premier League clubs have rejected a proposal for a short-term ban on loans made between associated clubs.
The vote saw thirteen teams in favor of stopping related-party loan deals while seven voted to maintain the current rules. Despite this decision, it remains a topic of debate among football enthusiasts.
At least 14 clubs were required to vote in favor of the temporary ban during the shareholders’ meeting held on Tuesday. The purpose of this vote was to establish a long-term policy regarding the issue.

Newcastle, which is predominantly owned by The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), has now been granted permission to borrow players from the four Saudi Pro League clubs that are also under PIF ownership during the upcoming transfer window. This ruling allows for a potential influx of talent into Newcastle’s squad.
The four clubs in question are Al Nassr, Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, and Al Hilal.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has confirmed that his club is interested in Ruben Neves, the midfielder from Al Hilal who used to play for Wolves.
Heading into the January transfer window, Newcastle is grappling with a substantial injury list. Some of the players affected include Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn and Matt Targett.
In Italy, Sandro Tonali, a midfielder for Newcastle, has been prohibited from participating in matches for 10 months due to violations of betting regulations. Out of the 20 Premier League teams, eleven have affiliations with other clubs through their owners. However, should Newcastle choose to utilize this avenue in January, they would possess the largest and most formidable pool of players available for trade.
