Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a late goal to level the match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Erling Haaland had opened the scoring for City in the 27th minute, marking his 50th Premier League goal. Despite having opportunities to secure their 24th consecutive home win in all competitions, City was left shocked by Alexander-Arnold’s equalizer.

With this result, Pep Guardiola’s team drops down to second in the Premier League table after Arsenal’s win against Brentford.Liverpool are third with a point less than Man City. However, this title race is far from over as City has now dropped points late in two consecutive games.
Guardiola expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, even though he acknowledged that his players were disappointed to have conceded two points in the final moments of the game.
He stated, “To allow only two opportunities against such a formidable opponent was commendable. The way we executed our build-up play and how Manuel Akanji and Rodri performed in challenging situations was exceptional. Our set-piece defending was also of a very high standard.”
Overall, Guardiola viewed the performance as positive and conveyed pride in his team’s efforts. However, he did acknowledge that there could be room for improvement, stating, “While they are content with their display, we feel slightly less elated. This is all part of football. Nevertheless, I am genuinely pleased and incredibly proud of my team.”
