The Premier League has officially announced that the match between Bournemouth and Luton will be replayed in its entirety.
This decision comes after Luton captain Tom Lockyer experienced a cardiac arrest on the field during last weekend’s game, leading to the abandonment of the match.
Lockyer collapsed during the 59th minute of play, prompting immediate medical attention. As a result, it was deemed necessary to halt the game for safety reasons.

The rescheduled fixture will take place at a later date in the season, although an exact date has yet to be determined.
In their statement, the Premier League emphasized that all parties involved in this decision – including match officials, players, managers from both clubs – were united in their agreement to abandon the match due to Lockyer’s health emergency.

According to Luton’s statement on Sunday, Lockyer is currently undergoing tests and scans in the hospital. However, they have made it clear that they will not be providing regular updates on their defender’s health.
When Lockyer collapsed during the game, Luton manager Rob Edwards immediately rushed onto the pitch at Vitality Stadium. His primary concern was ensuring the safety of his players by moving them away from the situation promptly. This allowed medical staff and paramedics to administer necessary treatment without any hindrance.
