Manchester City staged an impressive comeback to secure a 3-1 victory over Everton, closing the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just five points in the Premier League.
The reigning champions, fresh off their success in the Club World Cup where they claimed their fifth trophy of 2023, found themselves trailing when Jack Harrison netted a well-executed goal against his former club just before the half-hour mark.

Despite losing John Stones to an ankle injury in the first half, City responded strongly after halftime with two quick goals from Phil Foden’s powerful strike and Julian Alvarez’s successful penalty kick. This decision left Everton manager Sean Dyche fuming as it swung control firmly towards Pep Guardiola’s team.
In the dying moments of the game, Bernardo Silva sealed City’s victory with a perfectly executed lob. The win propelled them back into fourth place in the Premier League standings after a recent draw against Crystal Palace at home. Additionally, Manchester City still have one game in hand over their rivals.
On the other hand, Everton remains stuck in 17th place with only one point separating them from relegation zone danger.
