Kenya Police FC have explained why they hiked their ticket prices for their Saturday clash against Gor Mahia at their home ground.
The club announced that it was selling 500 tickets for extemporaneous prices.
This sparked an uproar among angry fans who were questioning why they had opted to hike their prices in the manner they did.
Football enthusiasts and loyal supporters are eagerly counting down to witness the highly anticipated ‘Sirkal’ derby clash between the Law Enforcers and K’Ogalo at the revered Police Sacco Stadium.
It is expected that the atmosphere at the ground could be electric as fans prepare for the match which is considered a monumental game in the race for the league title.
In an effort to ensure that there is a streamlined ticketing process, the organisers have opted for an exclusive online ticket sales mechanism.
The gate fees for the match are as follows: VVIP – Ksh 3000, VIP – Ksh 2000, and Terraces – Ksh 1500.
This will come as a shock considering the regular ticket price for other “normal” matchdays cost 200 shillings for terraces, while VVIP tickets cost 500 shillings.
It is likely that quite a sizable chunk of supporters will attend the match, and it could be the reason that the club have decided to take advantage by hiking the ticket price.
Football enthusiasts are encouraged to secure their tickets promptly and be part of the pulsating energy that will undoubtedly characterize this fixture.
