Aitana Bonmati is named FIFA’s Best Women’s player

Aitana Bonmati has been chosen as the recipient of FIFA’s Best Women’s player award due to her remarkable achievements with both Barcelona and Spain in the past year.

The 25-year-old midfielder had already claimed numerous accolades, including the Ballon d’Or Feminin, the Women’s World Cup Golden Ball, UEFA Player of the Year, and Champions League Player of the Season.

Bonmati was favored over her national teammate Jenni Hermoso and Colombian star Linda Caicedo who were also shortlisted. All three players showcased exceptional performances during last year’s Women’s World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand. Spain emerged victorious by defeating England in a thrilling final match.

Bonmati played a pivotal role for Spain by netting two goals on their path to World Cup glory. Additionally, she contributed significantly to Barcelona’s success by helping them secure an impressive Treble – winning both league titles (Spanish Cup) and triumphing in the Champions League.

In her winners speech, the superstar acknowledged and praised the future generation of female football players. This individual accolade was presented at a prestigious awards ceremony in London on Monday evening, which brought together the world’s top football talents. Throughout the past year, this superstar has had an exceptional performance both with her club and national team.

Every nominee for this award had impressive qualifications that made them deserving candidates. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate and recognize these remarkable individuals in one place.
