The Blues are halfway towards clinching a deal for Mauricio Pochettino’s next signing this summer
The main transfer target for Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino this summer is Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. Whether or not the Blues can reach an agreement with the Seagulls remains to be seen but Poch certainly won’t give up on his main target
Chelsea will improve their bid for Moisés Caicedo this week, as revealed yesterday. The Blues will submit an improved £70m bid for the Ecuadorian. Further, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that communications are happening directly between the two clubs, so the Blues hope to get another proposal together by this week.
With Arsenal announcing the signing of Declan Rice, it is clear that they are out of the race now. Therefore, there will be little to no competition for Caicedo this summer. The only hindrance to Poch is that De Zerbi’s board of directors are incredibly difficult to negotiate with – hence why Caicedo has been chased since the start of this year.
Moises Caicedo joined Brighton in 2021 from Independiente del Valle. Within a season and a half he played 53 games for the Seagulls, scoring 2 goals.
