Inter Milan extended their lead at the top of Serie A by 15 points after defeating Genoa.Β
The hosts took a 2-0 advantage in the first half with goals from Kristjan Asllani and an Alexis Sanchez penalty, awarded for a foul on Nicolo Barella inside the box. Johan Vasquez managed to pull one back for Genoa after halftime, but Inter held on to secure their ninth consecutive league victory.Β

This result marked their twelfth win in a row across all competitions, placing them comfortably ahead of second-placed Juventus by 15 points. So far this season, Inter has won an impressive 23 out of their 27 Serie A matches, with only one defeat suffered back in September. Since then, they have not dropped any points since drawing against Genoa on December 29th.
