Jadon Sancho Responds to Erik ten Hag’s Criticism

Jadon Sancho on missing out for the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal.

Jadon Sancho has released a passionate statement after being criticized by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, claiming he has been repeatedly made a “scapegoat”.

Sancho was missing from United’s squad for the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal yesterday, with Ten Hag revealing after the match he was dropped based “on his performance in training”.

“Jadon, on his performance in training, was not selected,” said the Dutchman. “You have to reach a level at Manchester United every day and we can make choices in the front line.

Jadon Sancho’s career at Manchester United could be in danger as he  seems to have publicly fallen out with Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils boss made some comments about the Englishman’s poor performances in training which thus led to him being dropped for the Premier League match against Arsenal.

The former Borussia Dortmund star clearly wasn’t happy with what his manager had to say about him in public, and it seems their relationship is a little worse right now.

This isn’t the first time Ten Hag has fallen out with one of his players. Numerous players in the past have gotten on the wrong side of the former Ajax manager, and it usually ends with them quickly leaving his club. Time will only tell if that will be the case for Sancho.

Sancho launched his defence with a lively post on social media.

“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week,” said the 23-year-old.

“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.

“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”
