At the start, Jurgen Klopp’s team fell behind when a mistake from Virgil van Dijk allowed Willian to capitalize and put Fulham in the lead. However, Curtis Jones equalized with an impressive long-range strike that deflected off Tosin Adarabioyo.
Up until that point, Fulham had performed exceptionally well, but Liverpool completed their comeback when substitutes Darwin Nunez and Gakpo combined for a skillful second goal.
This victory places Liverpool in a favorable position going into the second leg at Craven Cottage on January 24th. It ensures that they remain on track as they strive for success across four different competitions this season as leaders of the Premier League.
