Nenad Bjelica, the manager of Union Berlin, has been handed a three-match suspension after losing his temper on Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane and pushing him in the face.
This incident took place during Wednesday’s Bundesliga defeat when Sane tried to retrieve the ball from Bjelica on the touchline. The German Football Association stated that Bjelica exhibited “unsporting behavior” by raising his hands twice and pushing Sane away, resulting in his immediate dismissal from the game. In addition to his ban, Bjelica has also been fined €25,000 (£21,330).

Bjelica is a 52-year-old Croatian who assumed control of Union Berlin in November. Due to his suspension, he will be absent for their upcoming Bundesliga matches against Darmstadt, RB Leipzig, and Mainz. Union Berlin had finished fourth last season but are currently placed 15th with only a three-point lead over potential relegation play-off contenders.
As for Bayern Munich, they secured victory over Union Berlin with a score of 1-0 during Wednesday’s game. This triumph places them second in the league standings with four points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
