Tottenham striker, Richarlison, says he will seek the help of a psychologist

Tottenham’s striker, Richarlison, has expressed his intention to seek assistance from a psychologist in order to enhance his performance and overcome his goal drought.

After returning from international duty with Brazil, the player has yet to score in the Premier League this season. Last season, following his £60m transfer from Everton to Spurs, he only managed one goal in 27 league appearances.

Richarlison recently had a disallowed goal for Brazil against Peru due to VAR interference. However, he did find the back of the net during Tottenham’s EFL Cup loss against Fulham back in August. With Harry Kane leaving the club, Richarlison has been given the responsibility of being Tottenham’s number nine this season.

The player admits that off-field issues have impacted him over the past few months. Reports have emerged from Brazil suggesting a dispute between Richarlison and his representative Renato Velasco.

Here are some of Richarlison’s thoughts and what he shared with reporters:

“Sometimes, things don’t go the way we want. I think this part is a bit of the off-field side that ended up getting in my way. Even though you want to do things right, it ends up going wrong. I will continue to focus on the club. The storm has passed.”

“I went through a turbulent time in the last five months off the pitch. Now things are fine at home. People who only had an eye on my money are no longer close to me. Now things will start to flow. I’m sure I’ll get on a good run at Tottenham and make things happen again.”
